What is Member Advantage?

Member Advantage gives members an easy way to reduce expenses, maximize profits and increase efficiency. Through agreements with leading national companies, NAHB offers exclusive discounts on a variety of products and services that can benefit your business, employees and family.

In 2006, NAHB members saved $7,000,000 through Member Advantage.

How do builder associations use Member Advantage?

Builder associations use Member Advantage as a tool for membership recruitment and retention. The quantifiable nature of the program allows members to realize an immediate return on their membership dues investment, making the program a valuable member benefit.

What is the Member Advantage Revenue Share Program?

The Member Advantage Revenue Share Program is a way for builder associations to generate non-dues revenue. Fifty percent of all royalties earned from the following programs will be distributed to participating builder associations:

• NAHB Career Center
• Paychex Payroll Processing
• Forms Fulfillment Center - NEW
• Pitney Bowes
• Solveras Payment Systems
• Williams Scotsman

What are the requirements for revenue share participants?

By opting-in to the revenue share for a particular program, your builder association is agreeing to actively promote this program to your members on an ongoing basis.

To assist builder associations in their marketing endeavors, NAHB has created an online toolkit featuring a wealth of FREE promotional resources. To access the toolkit go to www.nahb.org/matoolkit.

How do I sign up for the revenue share program?

Go to www.nahb.org/matoolkit. Sign ups are handled on a per program basis. If you’ve already signed up for a program in the past, you do not need to sign up again.

How do I know if my builder association is participating and who should I contact with questions?

How much will my builder association earn?

To a large extent, that’s up to you. As a revenue sharing partner, you’ll receive 50% of the royalty NAHB earns based on member participation. The more members know about these programs, the more they’ll use them and the larger your royalty check. In a nutshell, the more members save, the more your HBA will earn!

The revenue share for the 2006 programs is in excess of $600,000.

What are some cost-effective ideas to market Member Advantage to members?

• Feature the Member Advantage logo on your website with a link to www.nahb.org/ma. This page features all the discounts currently available as well as instructions on how to access the savings.
• Include inserts on the various Member Advantage programs in your new member welcome kits, member mailings, dues renewals, etc. Also bring them to member events. You can order free inserts at www.nahb.org/matoolkit.
• Feature the Member Advantage programs in your newsletters and other member communications. You can download free ads and articles at www.nahb.org/matoolkit.
• Add a line to the bottom of your emails, reminding members to cash in on the savings. Feature www.nahb.org/ma for quick and easy access.

How does NAHB calculate the split with participating builder associations?

NAHB receives reports from each of the revenue share program vendors sorted by zip code so we can allocate the royalties to the appropriate participating builder associations. NAHB splits 50% of the royalties earned with participating state and local builder associations.

When will my builder association receive its royalty check?

The royalty checks are disseminated once a year – every March – so in March of 2007, you’ll receive a check for member activity in the 2006 programs.
