Members: Johnson County Building Code Board of Appeals Seeks to Fill Vacancies

Members: The Johnson County Board of Supervisors has announced two vacancies on the Johnson County Building Code Board of Appeals for four-year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2020 and expiring Dec. 31, 2023. One vacancy is for a person representing the building industry and one vacancy is for a person representing the plumbing industry.

The duties of the Building Code Board of Appeals are: to interpret the Johnson County Building Code and Amendments; and to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by a building official.

The Building Code Board of Appeals meets at least once annually, on a January or February evening, with additional meetings scheduled in the event of an appeal or upon special request. Meetings typically take place in the Johnson County Administration Building, 913 S. Dubuque St., Iowa City.

Application forms are available on the Committee/Board Openings section of the Johnson County website and in the office of the Johnson County Board of Supervisors, second floor of the Johnson County Administration Building, 913 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City.

Completed applications must be returned to the Board Office by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019.
