It’s
been said that the sign of a quality renovation is if a home
looks like it’s never been remodeled. “We always
try our best to architecturally make a remodel look like it
never happened,” says Lynn Hostetler of Ramsey
Creek Woodworks. The team at Ramsey Creek
accomplishes that by paying attention to detail and incorporating
period-appropriate materials.
Here, the homeowners wanted to take the small original, 1930s
kitchen and enlarge it along with redesigning the main floor
bedroom and bathroom. Ramsey Creek tied the
remodel design to the architecture of the original house by
replacing the roof on an old addition to mimic the home’s
original roof and using stucco siding and imported slate shingles
that matched the existing house.
They
then added 260 sq. ft. to the original home while rearranging
and remodeling an additional 640 sq. ft. making a more livable
space. The remodel includes a spacious kitchen, a redefined
side entry, a new main floor bathroom and custom trim and
built-ins that match the original trim and woodwork found
throughout the home.
