This
once-contemporary-style 3,000 sq. ft. split-level home has
been totally renovated; evolving from a five-bedroom, three-bath
home to the six-bedroom, five bath dream house that it is
today. The new traditional oceanfront-style home now has more
than 5,000 sq. ft. of living space.
In addition to changing the overall look of the house, the
homeowners wanted to enlarge the kitchen and add a guest wing
so their friends and family would feel truly comfortable in
their home.
The whole house renovation involved removing the old roof
and adding a new 200 truss and five pitched roof system.
The
home features a large 12 ft. high entry, a kitchen that is
a chef’s dream with red birch cabinetry, a great room
with a stone fireplace, a dining room with a 17 ft. ceiling,
and all covered with Brazilian cherry flooring.
The house also has a master suite and a guest suite on the
main floor, the lower level has four bedrooms, a video room,
bar/game room and a screened-in porch. The outside is covered
with stone and cement board siding.
Located on a beautiful River Heights cul-de-sac, this home
has an ideal view of the Iowa River. After the whole-house
remodel, the view on the inside is now as impressive as the
exterior views.
