As
the homeowners and their young son moved into this home, they
first and foremost wanted to renovate the kitchen. Carpentry
By Chris accomplished this by removing a peninsula
and installing a large working island with space for seating.
In addition, the homeowners wanted to update the feel of the
entire house. This was accomplished by painting every room,
totally remodeling each of the 3.5 baths and installing new
flooring throughout almost the whole house.
The homeowners are pleased that there is now a seamless
flow between the kitchen and the family room. This innovative
kitchen design, that takes the place of the traditional kitchen
table, is a perfect fit for today’s busy families. A
small pantry closet was replaced with additional cabinetry
and a more efficient location for the refrigerator. With cherry
cabinets and granite countertops, the kitchen now feels warm,
yet modern. The entryway now features a slate floor
and you’ll see red birch hardwood flooring in the great
room.
In addition to remodeling the home, the contractor also solved
some water problems that could have caused expensive damage
to the home down the road.
“We discovered a couple of places where water was leaking
in through the roof and causing some damage,” says
Chris Weckmann of Carpentry By Chris. “We
were able to find the source of the problem and repair both
the roof and the drywall damage.”
This home is a great example of what you can achieve when
you work well with your contractor to make your dreams a reality.
“I encourage people to look through magazines or books
for things they like,” says Chris. “The picture
may only have one detail that they like, but every piece of
the remodeling picture they can fill in is a great help to
us in building
the space the homeowner really wants.”
