2020 is The Greater Iowa City Area HBA’s 60th Anniversary Year

The Greater Iowa City Area HBA announces that 2020 is its 60th anniversary. Its charter with parent organization the National Association of Home Builders began May 24, 1960.

The organization, whose office is in Iowa City, opened its doors to support, promote and strengthen businesses engaged in the local home-building industry and thereby enable the American Dream of homeownership. Since that time, the Iowa City Area HBA – whose members also are part of the Home Builders Association of Iowa – has helped build communities within its footprint of Cedar, Iowa, Johnson and Washington counties. It boasts more than 350 members representing builders, remodelers, developers, suppliers, designers, engineers, real estate brokers, accountants and more. The association’s Vocational Training Council supports area schools, encouraging youth to consider a skilled-trades career.

“We are proud of the roots we’ve put down in the greater Iowa City area and our efforts to help develop our communities,” said Glenn Siders of Siders Development, the 2020 Iowa City Area HBA president. “We look forward to remembering the past this year and continuing to build our legacy as we grow our future.”

Special commemorations will occur throughout the year via events, social media and more. Follow the fun on Facebook (@IowaCityAreaHBA) and Instagram (@icareahba).
