Aug. 11 Virtual Aging-in-Place Forum Features HBA Members

The Wednesday, Aug. 11 Aging-in-Place Forum will feature three Greater Iowa City Area HBA members. Titled Home Evaluations to Identify Potential Hazards, Iowa City Area HBA Remodelers Council members GT Karr of Sueppels Siding & Remodeling and Andy Martin of Martin Construction will take viewers on a walk-through of two projects recently completed by McCreedy-Ruth Construction. GT, Andy, Tim Ruth  and Kevin McCreedy are all National Association of Home Builders Certified Aging-in-Place Specialists — as are many other members.

The forum is from Noon – 1:00 p.m. and is the fourth of six co-sponsored by Johnson County Social Services, the Iowa City Area Association of Realtors and the Iowa City Area HBA.

Identifying Hazards
Safe proofing your home. Where are the risks? GT and Andy will help you learn about what modifications can be made to make your home safe and accessible and alleviate concerns that such changes will make it less attractive. A Q&A will take place after the presentation.
